About Boston’s South End Neighborhood
The South End of Boston is primarily made up of stately mid-nineteenth century bowfronts – aesthetically uniform rows of five-story brick buildings which are used for both commercial and residential purposes. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and preserved by the South End Historical Society and Landmarks Commission, the neighborhood continues to maintain what had once made it classic and unique.
As the South End had surged in popularity in the late 1900’s, many delicious restaurants and bars had been established which made for a great destination for those both in and outside of the city. Today, given the continued gentrification, it has become one of the hottest neighborhoods for all walks of life with development of any parcels that are remain as opportunities.
